UnderExposed:The Official Opening & Symposium

Hoora, the official opening got under way  on Friday night. I took some random snaps of the night and random snaps from the Symposium meeting.

The opening was ALOT  of fun, it was full of all kinds of awesome-ness, talking to people, the atmoshpere, photographs, live music and mingling with other photographers.

More photos from the night and setting up UnderExposed on my flickr stream.

The night was extra special because my Sara (of Tegan and Sara) limited edition canvas prints was SOLD OUT within the first two hours I was there, how crazy was that. I honestly didn’t have any expectations about selling anything at all, I didn’t even have time to play with that idea in my head before the opening.

The photo above says it all! Five red stickers and the beautiful Sara herself. The canvas print itself is actually really nice I might have to get one done up. I was blown away at how great it turned out.

The photo above makes me laugh. The person that took this Rachel, her partner bought the 5th print and told me and wanted to take a photo of my reaction, I had many reactions all hilarious.

The print is still available to be purchased, I dont’ know if anyone has bought any, I was looking at the books yesterday and trying to find out.

The night was just awesome and if I could re-live it again I would over a thousand times. Thanks to those people that bought my prints I really appreciate it.

After five hours of sleep I headed back to the gallery for the Symposium forum/workshop. I was really looking forward to hearing Tony Mott talk. His presentation was great, I love the stories he told.  I bought his book and had him sign it and had a photo taken.  The photo above was snapped by Dan Boud, who was also at the forum presenting.

I finally met Dan Boud, he actually come up to me and said are you Charlyn and I turned around and said yes and then I had a brain freeze and realized it was Daniel Boud. He was really awesome, good guy to chat to. To be in the same room with two people I admire was awesome, that shall be the word of the week, AWESOME!! Everything was just AWESOME this weekend.

Opening exhibition, selling all five prints, meeting Tony Mott and Dan Boud, just AWESOME a billion times over…and I went and saw Ouch My Face on Saturday night and took photos. AWESOME!!

  3. YAY I bought one of those canvas photos of Sara! And I remember meeting you, although I was very very drunk. So I apologise for anything I may have said/done. heheh.

  4. I remember you Rhiannon, thanks so much. It’s great you bought the canvas.
No need to apologize it was good chatting to you.
I now know four of my buyers, just need to know who is the fifth person.
edit: by fifth person I mean the *other*mysterious buyer, because I have already met the fifth buyer, did that make sense? Oh well.
